Louis Borders, principal, is continuing the strategy when founding and building:
- Borders Books: First books and music superstore developed expert-systems-based buying system to tailor each of the 350 stores’ inventory to its local market
- Webvan: First full-line digital supermarket using a cloud-native platform to tightly bind shopping, fulfillment, and delivery
- HDS Global: First mainstream digital supercenter with RoboFS, a proprietary end-to-end fulfillment system using physical AI and robotics to condense inventory, automate pick and pack (going to market), and attract third parties to also buy RoboFS systems
